ok so i’m going to a 3 on 3 tournament this weekend in portland and we need a few simple, effective plays. anything helps thx
Pick and Roll all day!
Since 3 on 3 games leave the court so open, Pick and Rolls should be easy. Just have one teammate set you a Screen and run around it and look for whether or not the guys guarding you and your teammate switch. if they do then you should probably pass the ball to him immediately as he runs to the basket. If the defense doesn’t switch then you can just drive right to the basket yourself. Tell the third guy on your team to stay as behind the three point line so the third defender doesn’t stop you near the basket.
In 3 on 3, you just gotta remember the court is more open, so most of the time if you can beat your guy off the dribble, there won’t be anyone in the paint to stop you from scoring. Even if there is, you can just dump the ball off to your teammate for an easy score.
I also think, if you are quick and can dribble well, using the pump fake 1 on 1 with your guy would be a good move.
